This weekend I attended E4All with GamingAngel. We stopped by the Gears of War 2 booth where we received wearable COG tags and tshirts. Just before we headed away from the booth yesterday, the Gears 2 community manager slipped a little something "extra" into GamingAngel's bag. It is a beautiful 2 inch COG tag with a special code engraved onto it.
These unique codes are part of the Gears 2 promotion. Other sites, like Kotaku and possibly Joystiq will also be getting (or have) received COG tags with other codes. Each unique code unlocks certain videos or sketch work, etc, pertaining to the Last Day. The GamingAngels' COG tag will unlock 2 of the 26 special items.
To be selfish, I'm jealous I wasn't at E4 All and you were. Homegirl Trina is no stranger to me. I hope it was fun for all involved. The guys/gals over at Allgames was of high interest for me. From what I can tell from watching lots of their coverage, it seems like it went well for them. It's not what the old school E3 was in anyway, but it doesn't really need to be.
On this week's episode of Kotaku Talk Radio we'll be discussing the past, present and future of PC gaming, including recent news about Modern Warfare 2's lack of hosted servers. http://budurl.com/kotaku1021
As was posted on The Xbox Domain Twitter account, the site is currently down. The site will be back up within the next day or two. As the Owner/Editor-in-Chief I will see to it that this happens asap. Thanks for your patience.
